A 5m vessel that was out of fuel was being towed back to Whakatane by a good samaritan.  There were problems with the tow and assistance was requested. Conditions good with 0.5 – 1m swell.

Motor – 01/03/2015 – 10:00 to

A 5m boat had engine problems off Coastlands and underway with low power.  Two POB. Whakatane Rescue responded and towed boat back to Whakatane. 

Motor – 01/03/2015 – 8:00 to

Call from 4.7m aluminuim boat 200m off Kohi Point in 13.5m water. Two POB. Boat had overheated motor.  Conditions good. All stations call resulted in boat being towed in by a good samaritan.

Motor – 01/02/2015 – 11:45 to

Call from 5m aluminuim boat with motor problems off Opapi.  Three POB.  Sea conditions good. All stations call resulted in a good samaritan towing boat into Opapi Beach where others assisted it ashore. 

Jetski – 01/02/2015 – 6:45 to

Jetski broken down off Radio Mast with 1 POB. Sea conditions were good. Whakatane Rescue responded with 3 POB and on-scene 07.00hrs. Jetski found off Thornton and towed slowly back to Whakatane.
