A boat reported .5nm off the Thornton Bar with an engine problem and requested a tow. Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist, located the boat and towed it back safely to Whakatane .
A boat reported 3nm south of White Is with an engine problem and requested a tow back to Whakatane. Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist. The boat was located and taken under tow. Both vessels arrived safely back in the harbour
A boat reported 500m off Kohi Pt with a fuel pump problem and requested a tow. 2 boats responded and the stricken vessel was towed safely back across the Whakatane Bar. A big thank you to the Good Samaritans.
The CG Radio Operator saw a boat broach and capsize on the Whakatane Bar 2 POB Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist. However the 2 POB were rescued by surfers in the area. Whakatane Rescue was stood down. A great result and a big thank you to the surfers.
