Steering problem – 10/29/2016 – 10:58 to 13:00

At 1058hr a call was received from a 6.2m Boat with 3 POB.The boat was just off Whale Is with a steering problem and requested assistance.The sea conditions were good with a 12kt wind from the WSW and no significant swell.An unsuccessful All Stations call was made so Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist.The boat was located and taken under tow.Both boats were safely back in port at 1300hr
