A dinghy with 2 POB was reported overdue on a trip to fish off Coastlands.Whakatane Rescue was tasked by the police to search and locate the vessel. 2 other boats also offered to help. The incident was resolved when the occupants of the boat reported they were safe and well back at home. A big thank you to the good Samaritans.

A commercial fishing vessel off Waiotahi reported a crew menber needing medical assistance. Whakatane Rescue responded and brought the patient safely back to a waiting ambulance  in Whakatane.

A boat reported 10 nm North of Whale Is with a fuel pump problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist,located the boat and towed it back to Whakatane.

A charter vessel with people on White Is reported an eruption on the island and requested urgent assistance. Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist and made its way to the island where it remained on station until being stood down. 

A boat at the Eastern end of Whale Island reported an engine problem and requested assistance. Another boat heard the call and offered to help.The stricken vessel was towed to just outside the Whakatane bar where Whakatane Rescue was tasked to tow it over the bar back into the harbour.
