A boat reported at the Raurimus that it had lost its steering and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was launched, located the vessel and towed it safely back to Whakatane.

A boat wirh 3 POB and no power was seen drifting towards the Whakatane Bar. It was observed by another boat who towed it back to the ramp at the wharf. A big thank you to the good samaritan.

A boat reported at the 30m mark off Kohi Pt with a fuel problem and requested assistance.   Whakatane Rescue II was tasked, located the vessel and towed it safely back to Whakatane..

A boat reported 1km South of Whale Is with a fuel problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was tasked and towed the vessel back to Whakatane.

A boat reported East of Kohi Pt with an engine problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was launched and located the vessel. However,  the boat was close to the rocks so a second Coastguard boat, Awanui, was launched. Awanui towed the stricken vessel away from the rocks to Whakatane Rescue Ii. It was then towed back to Whakatane.
