Motor problem – 01/30/2017 – 11:38 to 12:46

At 1138hrs a boat with 2 POB reported 1km East of Thornton with an engine problem and requested assistance.Sea conditions were good with a N wind of 7kts and a 0.5m swell.An unsuccessful all stations call was made so Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist The boat was located at 1219hrs and taken under tow.Both boats arrived safely back in the Whakatane harbour at 1246hrs.
