Motor – 03/01/2015 – 16:25 to

A 5.5m boat with 2 POB reported engine problems with the motor overheating off Opotiki Bar.  Whakatane Coastguard notified Opotiki Coastguard of the problem and was asked to stand-by.  The weather was fine with a light NE breeze and little swell. It was high tide.  Shortly after the the boat reported that it had started the motor and was proceeding to cross the bar and was safe inside.  No further Coastguard action was necessary so the Coastguard was stood-down.
