Medical emergency – 08/12/2018 – 3:45 to 9:45

A commercial fishing boat at Cape Runaway reported a sick crew member and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue 2 was launched and rendezvoused with the vessel. The crew member was taken on board and brought back to a waiting ambulance in Whakatane. He was discharged from hospital later in the day.
