Fuel – 09/09/2015 – 15:05 to

A 6m boat with 2 POB reported by cell phone that it had run out of petrol 500m off the Wahakatane Bar and required a tow.  The sea was calm with 13kt wind from the NW and there was a full tide.  Whakatane Coastguard made an all stations call for assistance and a good samaritan offered to tow the vessel to the boat ramp. At 1535hr it was reported that both boats were safely back in port.  Many thanks to the Good Samaritan.
