Fuel – 04/02/2015 – 15:25 to

A 6m Haines Hunter with 2 POB notified Whakatane Coastguard that it had run out of petrol near the Vent about 16nm north of Kohi Point. An all stations request was made for assistance but there was no response.  Sea conditions were calm with a 7kt wind from NW. Whakatane Rescue with a crew of 4 was tasked to supply fuel and was on scene at 1652hr.  The boat was refuelled and Whakatane Rescue followed the boat most of the way home to ensure its safety.
