Engine problem – 04/25/2017 – 6:52 to 8:01

At 0652hrs a vessel reported an engine problem crossing the Whakatane Bar; 2POB  The current took the vessel into the dinghy channel.  Whakatane Coastguard boat “Awanui” was tasked to assist.  Sea conditions good, outgoing tide, and a 3-8kts wind from the SSW.  Successful tow back to the boat ramp at 0801hrs.
