Engine problem – 03/05/2017 – 10:38 to 12:48

At 1038hrs a boat south of the Raurimus with 2 POB reported an engine problem and requested assistance.Sea conditions were good with a slight sea and a W wind of 2-5 kts.An All Stations call was made which resulted in another boat responding.Unfortunately the boat did not have a rope to tow the vessel back so Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist.The boat was taken under tow by Whakatane Rescue and both boats arrived safely back in the harbour at 1248hrs.A big thank you to the good samaritan for responding to the All Stations call.
