Engine problem – 02/19/2017 – 10:01 to 11:28

At 1001hrs a member of the public reported receiving a phone call from a boat with 2 POB on the South side of Whale Island with an engine problem and requesting assistance.Sea conditions were good with an incoming tide,a NE wind 7-9 kts and a .5m swell.An All Stations call was made which resulted in a boat locating the vessel and taking it under tow.Both boats arrived safely back in the Whakatane Harbour at 1128hrs.A big thank you to the good samaritan.
