Electrical – 06/03/2016 – 8:33 to 11:45

At 0833hr a 5.3m aluminium centre console boat with 3 POB reported electrical problems and needed assistance.  The boat was 1.8km off Murphy’s Motor Camp in 15m of water.   Sea conditions were very good with calm sea and 4-6kt wind from SSW. An all stations alert was made for any boat in the vicinity that could assist. At 0845hr Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist and was launched at 1012hr and had the boat under tow at 1104hr. At 1145hr both vessels were safely back in port.
