Drive – 12/26/2015 – 15:39 to

A 4.3m green boat with 2 POB reported via mobile phone that it was in trouble.  The propellor would not stay in the water and assistance was required. The boat was in 8m of water past the Raurimu Islands.  Sea conditions were reasonable with a 15kt wind from NW and 0.5m N swell.  Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist and was launched at 1614hr and sighted the boat at 1641hr.  At 1655hr the 2 boat crew were transfered to Whakatane Rescue and the boat was taken in tow. At 1745hr both boats were safely back in port.
