Boat 5.2m fibreglass lost steering due to broken steering cable off Whakatane Bar.  3 POB and conditions good.  Whakatane Rescue responded with crew of 3 and towed boat back over the bar to safety.

A 5m vessel that was out of fuel was being towed back to Whakatane by a good samaritan.  There were problems with the tow and assistance was requested. Conditions good with 0.5 – 1m swell.

Motor – 01/03/2015 – 10:00 to

A 5m boat had engine problems off Coastlands and underway with low power.  Two POB. Whakatane Rescue responded and towed boat back to Whakatane.

Call from 4.7m aluminuim boat 200m off Kohi Point in 13.5m water. Two POB. Boat had overheated motor.  Conditions good. All stations call resulted in boat being towed in by a good samaritan.

Call from 5m aluminuim boat with motor problems off Opapi.  Three POB.  Sea conditions good. All stations call resulted in a good samaritan towing boat into Opapi Beach where others assisted it ashore.
