Capsize – 02/17/2019 – 18:11 to 19:11

Maritime NZ received a call from the police of a red flare and a boat capsized on the Thornton Bar. 3 POB. An All Stations call resulted in a boat responding. Whakatane Rescue 2 was also tasked to assist so the responding  boat was stood down The 3 POB made it safely back to the beach at Thornton and Whakatane Rescue 2  was stood down. A big thank you to the Good Samaritan.
