Boat taking on water – 06/30/2018 – 13:45 to 15:50

A boat was reported by a member of the public to be taking on water.  An All Stations call resulted in numerous boats responding.  However due to language difficulties and no GPS there was a problem obtaining the boat’s position.  This was finally achieved by using a mobile phone.  Whakatane was tasked to assist and the boat was located and taken under tow.  Both boats arrived safely back in the harbour.  A big thank you to the Good Samaritans.
