Battery problem – 02/26/2017 – 14:47 to 17:30

At 1447 hrs a boat with 2 POB reported at White Island unable to start the engine and requesting assistance. After an unsuccessful all stations call,  Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist.  Sea conditions were good with an incoming tide and a NNW wind of 10-13 kts.  Whakatane Rescue located the vessel and a successful jump start was made.  The boat followed Whakatane Rescue back to the Whakatane bar and both boats were safely back in the harbour at 1730 hrs
