Battery – 10/11/2015 – 14:47 to

1447 – 1510hr.  Members of the public reported to Whakatane Coastguard that a yellow fibeglass boat with 4 POB had problems off Otawairere Bay. The report was recieved via a text message because there was no reception in the bay for cellphone calls. Sea conditions were calm with 10-13kt NNW wind and no swell. An all stations call was transmitted requesting assistance.  A good samaritan responded and was able to help jump start the boat. All returned safely to port at 1510hr.
