A call was received from police of a person from a kayak in the water off Murphy’s Motor Camp at Matata. Whakatane Rescue II was launched and proceeded to the area. In the meantime, a boat had heard an All Stations call made by Whakatane Coastguard. and had the person on board. The person was transferred to Whakatane Rescue II and brought back to Whakatane. A big thank you to the Good Samaritan.
