A vessel off Kohi Pt reported propeller problems and sought assistance. Whakatane Rescue was dispatched and towed the boat safely back to Whakatane.

Steering problem – 05/19/2020 – 12:07 to 13:18

A boat south of Whale Is reported steering failure and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue was tasked to assist and towed the vessel safely back to Whakatane.

Fuel problem – 05/19/2020 – 8:32 to 8:59

A boat off Kohi Pt reported a fuel problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue was launched and proceeded to the scene. The vessel was able to start the engine and returned safely to Whakatane with Whakatane Rescue monitoring progress following them safely home.

Fuel problem – 03/22/2020 – 11:45 to 14:45

A boat reported 25nm North of Kohi Pt with a fuel pump problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was tasked to assist, located the vessel and towed it safely back to Whakatane.

Mechanical problem – 03/15/2020 – 15:00 to 19:00

The police advised of a vessel needing assistance off the Motu River. Whakatane Rescue II responded and towed the boat back into Schoolhouse Bay (Te Kaha) Whakatane Rescue II then returned safely back to Whakatane.
