A vessel off Ohope Beach reported a flat battery. Whakatane Rescue II responded and provided a jump start. Both vessels returned safely to Whakatane. 

A boat reported at White Is with an engine problem. Due to Whakatane Rescue being on another task, Opotiki Rescue was sent to assist the stricken vessel. The boat was located and towed back towards Whakatane. 5 nm North of the bar Whakatane Rescue took over the tow and all 3  boats arrived safely back in the harbour.

A boat called Coastguard to advise he had another boat in tow and was making his way back to Whakatane. Both boats crossed the bar safely. A big thank you to the good samaritan.
