Battery problem – 09/02/2023 – 17:27 to 19:00

A boat reported between the Raurimus and Whakatane with a battery problem and requested assistance. The call was heard by another vessel who offered to help. The stricken vessel was taken under tow but then the Good Samaritan also broke down with an engine problem. Whakatane Rescue II was launched and towed the first boat back to Whakatane. A big thank you to the Good Samaritan.

A boat reported 1nm South of Whale Is with a gearbox problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was tasked, located the vessel and towed it safely back to Whakatane.

A boat reported North of Kohi Pt with an engine problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was tasked and towed the vessel back safely to Whakatane.
