Engine problem – 1/10/2024 – 0940 to 1100 (56)

A boat with 1 POB reported off Kohi Pt with an engine problem and requested assistance. Conditions were good with a N wind of 5kts and a calm sea. Whakatane Rescue II was launched, located the vessel and towed it  back to Whakatane.

Fuel problem – 25/09/2024 – 1520 to 1630 (55)

A boat reported 1km North of the Whakatane Bar with a fuel problem and requested assistance. Whakatane Rescue II was launched,  located the vessel and supplied fuel.  The motor could not be started on the vessel so Whakatane Rescue II towed it back to Whakatane.

 

 

 

Engine problem – 22/09/2024 – 1305 to 1550 (54)

A boat with 3 POB reported at White Is/Whakaari with an engine problem and requested assistance. Conditions were moderate with a NNW wind of 15kts and an outgoing tide. Whakatane Rescue II was launched , located the vessel and towed it  back to Whakatane.

Leakage – 22/09/2024 – 1145 to 1215 (53)

A boat with 1 POB reported off the Whakatane Bar taking on water. Conditions were good with a NE wind of 10kts, a low sea and an outgoing tide. Whakatane Rescue II was tasked, located the vessel and towed it slowly back to Whakatane.

 

Fuel problem – 12/09/2024 – 1815 to 2030 (52)

A boat with 5 POB reported at the Vents ( South of White Is ) with a fuel problem and requested assistance. The call was heard by another boat who offered to help. The stricken vessel was taken in tow to 12nm North of Whakatane where Whakatane Rescue II, which had been launched, took the tow and brought the boat safely back to Whakatane. A big thank you to the good samaritan.
