A boat reported off the Whakatane Bar with a fuel problem and taking on water. Whakatane Rescue II the was launched and towed the vessel back safely across the bar.
Battery problem – Sunday – 2/06/24 – 1455 to 1600 (39)
A boat with 2 POB reported SE of Whale Is with a flat battery and requested assistance. Conditions were good with a NW wind of 8kts and no significant swell.Whakatane Rescue II was launched, located the vessel. provided a jump start and followed the boat back to Whakatane.
Engine problem – Saturday – 18/05/24 – 1350 to 1545 (38)
A boat with 3 POB reported off the Thornton Bar with an overheating engine and requested assistance. Conditions were good with a SSE wind of 5 kts and a low Northerly swell. Whakatane Rescue II was launched and towed the vessel back to Whakatane.
Fuel problem – Tuesday – 14/05/24 – 1535 to 1730 (37)
A boat with 2 POB reported at the Tasman Reef with a fuel problem and requested assistance. An All Stations call resulted in a boat offering to help Fuel was provided to the vessel and both boats returned safely to Whakatane. A big thank you to the good samaritan.

A boat with 1 POB reported off Ohope Beach with an engine problem and requested assistance. Conditions were good , with an outgoing tide and a SSW wind of 12kts. Whakatane Rescue II was tasked, located the vessel and towed it back safely to Whakatane.
